Thank you for this! Father Mike and Bishop Barron in conversation together was such a gift ☺️

I just listened to an episode of the podcast Well Considered discussing "How Pelvic Structure Shapes Birth: A Natural Minded Approach to C-Sections with Adrienne Davidson" and found it very interesting. It adds a dimension to the "natural vs medical" childbirth conversation I have never heard before.

My physiology allows for quick unmedicated vaginal births (at least three so far, who knows what the future will bring) but a lot of difficulty breastfeeding. Just another interesting facet of what it means to be human - if God shaped each of us intentionally, how do we see the gift when our bodies aren't functioning how we wish them to?

Thank you again for the roundup!

I'm so glad you enjoyed their conversation. That episode sounds fascinating. I have had just about every iteration of birth from epidural with forceps (hands down the WORST), emergency C-section, and two unmedicated (not in that order). Breastfeeding my first was really challenging, so I can relate to that difficulty for sure.

"If God shaped each of us intentionally, how do we see the gift when our bodies aren't functioning how we wish them to?"

Amazing question. I am working on a book project and part of it involves answering this question right now, actually, so thank you for voicing it! God's way of inviting me to pay further attention. Even if our limitations and illness are a result of the world's imperfections/original sin, how do we still see God working" in all things for the good of those who love him," (Romans 8:28)? Lots of temptations there, but also a beautiful invitation into the mystery of human suffering and deeper trust of our Father. Hard. But good.
